Lenstec, Inc. is a medical device corporation based in Florida, serving the global ophthalmic surgical market. Our products, marketed in over 60 countries, are a testament to our commitment to quality and affordability. We design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of intraocular lens (IOL) implants and lens injection systems, and our rapid prototype design and development process ensures high-quality products at a low cost.
In late April 2010, Lenstec received its first US FDA approval for the Softec HD bi-aspheric lens. This lens is the first monofocal implant approved with 0.25D steps and is designed to be the most accurate IOL on the market today. It is a hydrophilic acrylic implant made from a hydrogel base material currently used by many other internationally known IOL companies worldwide.
In June 2010, Lenstec received its second US FDA approval for the Softec I implant. The Softec I features a traditional “non-aspheric” optic design with traditional 0.5D steps, and it is made of the same material and Mod-C loop design. This lens introduces new technology material to the traditional IOL, offering a significant upgrade from low-cost silicone implants for cost-conscious ASC facilities.
Founded in 1993, Lenstec has offices in Florida and the United Kingdom and a 30,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Barbados, designed by Lenstec to exceed all medical device standards.
